{Durban – A man was killed and three other people injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a taxi on the M4 South Victoria Embankment on-ramp on Tuesday, paramedics said.}
Paramedics arrived on the scene and found the driver and a passenger trapped in the taxi, said Rescue Care operations director, Garrith Jamieson.
A third passenger, sitting in the rear of the vehicle, was also seriously injured.
“The Durban Fire Department and Netcare 911 rescue unit worked together to free the trapped patients while paramedics worked to stabilise them,” he said.
Once they had all been stabilised and freed they were taken to various Durban hospitals.
Shortly after arriving at hospital, one of the three died.
The truck driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to nearby hospital, said Jamieson.
