Repatriation of President Ahmadou Ahidjo’s corpse to Cameroon

{The corpse of Cameroon’s founding president Ahmadou Ahidjo to Cameroon for reburial will take place only after the current president issues an official decree.}

President Ahidjo, who handed over power to Biya in November 1982, died and was buried in Senegal while in exile in November 30, 1989. Since then government has done nothing to bring back the corpse of the former President. Before his demise, he was condemned to death by a Yaounde court for alleged complicity in the April 6, 1984 coup attempt.

President Biya wants to wipe out his predecessor from national memory.

We are therefore petitioning for the repatraition of President Ahidjo’s corpse to Cameroon and his remains should be given a proper state burial and the respect it so deserves.
