Religious leaders declare intention to be active in politics

{A group of religious leaders led by Father Gaetano Batanyenda are advocating for their active participation in politics to shape Uganda’s political future. }

The men of God in their different denominations called on their colleagues to join them to promote the campaign for free and fair elections.

The leaders asserted that they are citizens of Uganda who have rights and a stake in the future of the country.

The statement from the religious leaders follows President Museveni’s recent warning to them to leave politics alone.
