{KAMPALA. Police has dismissed independent presidential candidate Joseph Mabirizi’s campaign team claims of his abduction.}
Mr Mabirizi’s team claimed he was abducted by unidentified assailants in the wee hours of Wednesday and taken to a house where men armed in army uniform told him to pull out of the race.
Police spokesperson, Mr Fred Enanga, said there are a lot of contradictions surrounding Pastor Mabirizi’s story, but investigations are still ongoing.
“There is a lot of suspicion and contradictions in the way events unfolded. Nevertheless, we have opened a case at police and recorded his statement. Investigations have started,” Mr Enanga said.
