An oil depot in the port area of the Nigerian city of Lagos has been hit by a major explosion and fire.
The National Emergency Management Agency (Nema) said, the blast, which shook buildings in the Apapa area, happened during a transfer of fuel.
Many tankers dock at jetties in the port in Lagos to load and unload petroleum products.
Willem Auret an eyewitness at the scene was quoted by BBC saying the blast occured on a ship on its way to Snake Island in Apapa, said he saw a tanker barge catch fire at about 11:00 local time.
