The Prime Minister, Anastase Murekezi, has advised Rwandans to elect honest candidates during the upcoming local leaders’ elections as he commended outgoing local leaders’ contribution, saying the government will always recognize their five year contribution towards nation building.
“We take this opportunity to congratulate the outgoing local leaders for completing their five-year term. The country will always recognize their good contribution,” he said.
Murekezi unveiled this over the weekend during the monthly community work . He encouraged Rwandans of voting age to participate in upcoming local leaders’ elections to take place in February and March 2016.
He advised candidates to be explicit on what they intend to do for the voters and general national development, requesting those that failed to measure up to the expectations in service delivery to apologize to the people.
Elections of districts advisory councils will be held on 27th February 2016, district committee on 28th February 2016, while the advising committee and administrative committee of Kigali city will be held on 2nd March 2016. Results are expected to be released on 8th March 2016.
