{"id":41947,"date":"2026-05-08T15:34:40","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T15:34:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/french\/Le-Rwanda-se-fixe-pour-objectif-100-MW-issus-du-gaz-methane-du-lac-Kivu-41947\/"},"modified":"2026-05-11T18:24:40","modified_gmt":"2026-05-11T18:24:40","slug":"Le-Rwanda-se-fixe-pour-objectif-100-MW-issus-du-gaz-methane-du-lac-Kivu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/french\/Le-Rwanda-se-fixe-pour-objectif-100-MW-issus-du-gaz-methane-du-lac-Kivu\/","title":{"rendered":"Le Rwanda se fixe pour objectif 100 MW issus du gaz m\u00e9thane du lac Kivu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>En 2025, l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 issue du gaz m\u00e9thane du lac Kivu repr\u00e9sentait d\u00e9j\u00e0 21 % de la production nationale, soit environ 82 m\u00e9gawatts, avec un objectif port\u00e9 \u00e0 100 m\u00e9gawatts, selon un r\u00e9cent rapport du RDB.<\/p>\n<p>Th\u00e9oneste Higaniro, responsable du suivi de la construction des centrales \u00e9lectriques et des grands r\u00e9seaux \u00e0 la R\u00e9gie de production et de distribution d\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 (REG), a indiqu\u00e9 au journal &#8216;The New Times&#8217; que les 82 m\u00e9gawatts actuellement produits proviennent de KivuWatt (26 MW) et de la centrale Shema Power Lake Kivu (56 MW), pr\u00e9cisant toutefois que l\u2019objectif de 100 m\u00e9gawatts n\u2019est pas encore atteint.<\/p>\n<p>Par ailleurs, la capacit\u00e9 totale de production \u00e9lectrique du Rwanda poursuit sa progression, passant de 238,36 m\u00e9gawatts en 2020\/2021 \u00e0 404,6 m\u00e9gawatts en d\u00e9cembre 2026. Actuellement, plus de 85,4 % de la population rwandaise a acc\u00e8s \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Selon les donn\u00e9es disponibles, 60,1 % des m\u00e9nages sont raccord\u00e9s au r\u00e9seau \u00e9lectrique national, tandis que 25,3 % utilisent des syst\u00e8mes solaires.<\/p>\n<p>Le pays ambitionne en outre d\u2019atteindre une capacit\u00e9 totale de production de 1 066 m\u00e9gawatts d\u2019ici 2034, conform\u00e9ment au plan d\u00e9cennal de la REG.<\/p>\n<p>Parall\u00e8lement, le ministre des Finances et de la Planification \u00e9conomique, Yusuf Murangwa, avait annonc\u00e9 en septembre 2025 que le Rwanda pr\u00e9voit d\u2019investir plus d\u2019un milliard de dollars au cours des cinq prochaines ann\u00e9es afin de financer des projets permettant d\u2019atteindre environ 1 000 m\u00e9gawatts n\u00e9cessaires au d\u00e9veloppement \u00e9conomique national.<\/p>\n<p>La strat\u00e9gie \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique nationale repose sur une diversification des sources, le Rwanda pr\u00e9voyant notamment 57,7 m\u00e9gawatts issus de l\u2019hydro\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 d\u2019ici 2028.<\/p>\n<p>Le projet Nyabarongo II constituera un pilier majeur avec une capacit\u00e9 de 43,5 m\u00e9gawatts et un barrage destin\u00e9 au stockage de l\u2019eau, permettant une production stable tout au long de l\u2019ann\u00e9e et facilitant \u00e9galement les activit\u00e9s d\u2019irrigation.<\/p>\n<p>Le pays mise \u00e9galement sur l\u2019\u00e9nergie solaire avec un objectif de 200 m\u00e9gawatts. Par ailleurs, 100 m\u00e9gawatts suppl\u00e9mentaires devraient provenir de la coop\u00e9ration r\u00e9gionale, tandis que 162 m\u00e9gawatts seront issus d\u2019\u00e9changes \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques au sein de la r\u00e9gion.<\/p>\n<p>Le Rwanda d\u00e9veloppe \u00e9galement un ambitieux projet d\u2019\u00e9nergie nucl\u00e9aire d\u2019une capacit\u00e9 de 440 m\u00e9gawatts, dont la mise en service est pr\u00e9vue d\u2019ici 2032.<\/p>\n<p>Enfin, le r\u00e9seau \u00e9lectrique national s\u2019\u00e9tend actuellement sur 38 358,83 kilom\u00e8tres.
