Cette innovation a r\u00e9volutionn\u00e9 la mani\u00e8re dont le public acc\u00e8de alors \u00e0 l\u2019actualit\u00e9, notamment lors de grands \u00e9v\u00e9nements internationaux comme la guerre du Golfe, la chute de l\u2019Union sovi\u00e9tique ou encore les manifestations de Tiananmen, largement couvertes en direct par la cha\u00eene.<\/p>\n

Avant de cr\u00e9er CNN, Ted Turner avait commenc\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re en reprenant une entreprise familiale de publicit\u00e9, puis en d\u00e9veloppant des stations de radio et de t\u00e9l\u00e9vision locales. Il a ensuite b\u00e2ti un v\u00e9ritable empire m\u00e9diatique comprenant plusieurs cha\u00eenes embl\u00e9matiques comme TBS, TNT et Cartoon Network.<\/p>\n

Au-del\u00e0 des m\u00e9dias, Turner \u00e9tait \u00e9galement reconnu pour ses activit\u00e9s philanthropiques et environnementales. En 2018, Ted Turner avait r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 souffrir de d\u00e9mence \u00e0 corps de Lewy, une maladie neurod\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rative, la cause officielle de son d\u00e9c\u00e8s n\u2019ayant pas encore \u00e9t\u00e9 communiqu\u00e9e.<\/p>\n
