La police a indiqu\u00e9 dans un communiqu\u00e9 de presse qu’elle \u00e9tait intervenue apr\u00e8s le signalement de coups de feu tir\u00e9s en direction du consulat mardi \u00e0 5h29 heure locale.<\/p>\n

A leur arriv\u00e9e sur les lieux dans le centre-ville de Toronto, les policiers ont trouv\u00e9 la preuve qu’une arme \u00e0 feu avait \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9charg\u00e9e. Aucun bless\u00e9 n’a \u00e9t\u00e9 signal\u00e9, a fait savoir la police, ajoutant qu’elle n’avait aucune information au sujet d’un suspect.<\/p>\n

Le ministre canadien de la S\u00e9curit\u00e9 publique, Gary Anandasangaree, a qualifi\u00e9 la fusillade d'”absolument inacceptable” et affirm\u00e9 que le Canada ne tol\u00e9rera jamais aucune forme d’intimidation ou de violence.<\/p>\n

Le Premier ministre de la province de l’Ontario, Doug Ford, a condamn\u00e9 cette fusillade qui constitue pour lui “un acte absolument inacceptable de violence et d’intimidation”. Il a assur\u00e9 que le gouvernement et les forces de l’ordre feront “tout ce qu’il faudra” pour poursuivre en justice les coupables et les punir.<\/p>\n

La maire de Toronto, Olivia Chow, a not\u00e9 que cet incident faisait suite \u00e0 plusieurs fusillades visant des synagogues dans la r\u00e9gion de Toronto plus t\u00f4t ce mois-ci. Elle a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 qu’une forte pr\u00e9sence polici\u00e8re avait \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9ploy\u00e9e aux consulats des Etats-Unis et d’Isra\u00ebl. <\/p>\n
