\u00c2g\u00e9 de 72\u202fans, Lord Mandelson a \u00e9t\u00e9 interpell\u00e9 \u00e0 son domicile de Camden, dans le nord de Londres, \u00e0 l\u2019issue d\u2019une enqu\u00eate ouverte apr\u00e8s la publication de nombreux documents li\u00e9s \u00e0 Epstein par le D\u00e9partement de la Justice des \u00c9tats\u2011Unis.<\/p>\n

Selon ces documents d\u00e9classifi\u00e9s et rendus publics d\u00e9but f\u00e9vrier 2026, des \u00e9changes de courriels sugg\u00e8rent que Mandelson aurait transmis des informations gouvernementales confidentielles \u00e0 Jeffrey Epstein alors qu\u2019il \u00e9tait ministre du Commerce (Business Secretary) sous le gouvernement de Gordon Brown (2008\u20112010).<\/p>\n

Des perquisitions ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 effectu\u00e9es dans deux propri\u00e9t\u00e9s li\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019ancien ambassadeur, situ\u00e9es \u00e0 Camden et dans le Wiltshire, dans le sud\u2011ouest de l\u2019Angleterre.<\/p>\n

Conduit dans un commissariat londonien apr\u00e8s son arrestation, Mandelson a \u00e9t\u00e9 lib\u00e9r\u00e9 sous caution mardi, dans l\u2019attente de la poursuite de l\u2019enqu\u00eate. Il est notamment poursuivi pour mauvaise conduite au sein d\u2019un poste public et non pour infractions sexuelles. L\u2019ancien ministre a cependant ni\u00e9 avoir commis la moindre infraction criminelle.<\/p>\n

Cette affaire survient quelques jours apr\u00e8s l\u2019arrestation d\u2019Andrew Mountbatten\u2011Windsor, fr\u00e8re du roi Charles\u202fIII, \u00e9galement impliqu\u00e9 dans une enqu\u00eate sur le partage d\u2019informations sensibles avec Epstein. Bien qu\u2019il ait \u00e9t\u00e9 rel\u00e2ch\u00e9, les enqu\u00eates restent en cours et suscitent une attention particuli\u00e8re au Royaume\u2011Uni.<\/p>\n
