L\u2019incident s\u2019est produit vers 14\u202fh\u202f15 dans le quartier de Hazelwood, \u00e0 l\u2019est de la ville, lorsqu\u2019un v\u00e9hicule a \u00e9t\u00e9 arr\u00eat\u00e9 dans le cadre d\u2019une enqu\u00eate visant un passager consid\u00e9r\u00e9 par le gouvernement comme un V\u00e9n\u00e9zu\u00e9lien en situation irr\u00e9guli\u00e8re, affili\u00e9 au gang transnational \u201cTren de Aragua\u201d, a indiqu\u00e9 le minist\u00e8re am\u00e9ricain de la S\u00e9curit\u00e9 int\u00e9rieure (DHS).<\/p>\n

Selon le DHS, le conducteur aurait tent\u00e9 de percuter les agents, les for\u00e7ant \u00e0 ouvrir le feu en l\u00e9gitime d\u00e9fense. Les deux occupants – un homme et une femme – ont \u00e9t\u00e9 retrouv\u00e9s quelques minutes plus tard par la police municipale, souffrant de blessures par balles apparentes. Ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 hospitalis\u00e9s, mais leur \u00e9tat de sant\u00e9 pr\u00e9cis n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 communiqu\u00e9. La police de Portland a pr\u00e9cis\u00e9 qu\u2019elle n\u2019\u00e9tait pas impliqu\u00e9e dans les tirs et que le FBI m\u00e8ne une enqu\u00eate sur l\u2019incident.<\/p>\n

Cet \u00e9v\u00e9nement survient au lendemain de la mort d\u2019une femme abattue mercredi par un agent de l\u2019ICE \u00e0 Minneapolis, ce qui avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00e9clench\u00e9 des protestations massives contre les pratiques f\u00e9d\u00e9rales d\u2019application des lois sur l\u2019immigration.<\/p>\n

\u00c0 Portland, le maire Keith Wilson a condamn\u00e9 l\u2019incident, d\u00e9non\u00e7ant la militarisation excessive des op\u00e9rations et appelant l\u2019ICE \u00e0 suspendre toutes ses activit\u00e9s dans la ville jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la fin d\u2019une enqu\u00eate exhaustive. \u00ab\u202fPortland n\u2019est pas un terrain d\u2019entra\u00eenement pour des agents militaris\u00e9s\u202f\u00bb, a\u2011t\u2011il d\u00e9clar\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Le procureur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de l\u2019Oregon, Dan Rayfield, a annonc\u00e9 l\u2019ouverture d\u2019une enqu\u00eate ind\u00e9pendante pour d\u00e9terminer si les agents f\u00e9d\u00e9raux ont agi l\u00e9galement ou ont outrepass\u00e9 leur autorit\u00e9. Des centaines de manifestants ont \u00e9galement converg\u00e9 vers le b\u00e2timent de l\u2019ICE, entra\u00eenant plusieurs arrestations pour trouble \u00e0 l\u2019ordre public.<\/p>\n
