Dans un communiqu\u00e9, le Norwegian Nobel Institute a indiqu\u00e9 que Machado avait \u00ab fait tout ce qui \u00e9tait en son pouvoir pour venir \u00bb, \u00e9voquant une \u00ab situation d\u2019extr\u00eame danger \u00bb entourant son d\u00e9placement. Peu avant, l\u2019opposante avait assur\u00e9 dans un enregistrement audio qu\u2019elle \u00e9tait \u00ab en route \u00bb et qu\u2019elle rejoindrait la capitale norv\u00e9gienne.<\/p>\n

Cependant, les organisateurs ont pr\u00e9cis\u00e9 que Machado n\u2019arriverait \u00e0 Oslo que \u00ab dans la soir\u00e9e ou le lendemain matin \u00bb, trop tard pour participer \u00e0 la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie officielle pr\u00e9vue \u00e0 midi ce mercredi.<\/p>\n

Face \u00e0 cette absence, sa fille, Ana Corina Sosa Machado, a accept\u00e9 le prestigieux prix au nom de sa m\u00e8re et a prononc\u00e9 le discours que celle-ci avait pr\u00e9par\u00e9, le directeur de l\u2019Institut Nobel ayant confirm\u00e9 que la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie se d\u00e9roulerait comme pr\u00e9vu, en pr\u00e9sence de la plupart des invit\u00e9s internationaux, mais sans la laur\u00e9ate.<\/p>\n

Machado vit dans la clandestinit\u00e9 depuis ao\u00fbt 2024, dans la foul\u00e9e de l\u2019\u00e9lection pr\u00e9sidentielle vivement contest\u00e9e remport\u00e9e par Nicol\u00e1s Maduro. Elle avait alors \u00e9t\u00e9 emp\u00each\u00e9e de se pr\u00e9senter et, face au risque d\u2019arrestation, avait choisi de se cacher.<\/p>\n

Depuis, elle n\u2019avait r\u00e9apparu publiquement qu\u2019une seule fois, le 9 janvier 2025, \u00e0 Caracas, lors d\u2019un rassemblement d\u00e9non\u00e7ant l\u2019investiture de Maduro pour un troisi\u00e8me mandat.<\/p>\n

Malgr\u00e9 son absence, le comit\u00e9 Nobel a salu\u00e9 dans un communiqu\u00e9 \u00ab la flamme de la d\u00e9mocratie \u00bb que Machado \u00ab a su maintenir vivante \u00bb au Venezuela, un message que sa fille a vivement relay\u00e9 devant\u00a0l\u2019assembl\u00e9e.<\/p>\n
