Apr\u00e8s un appel qui avait port\u00e9 sa peine \u00e0 15 ans en mai 2025, la Cour supr\u00eame a rejet\u00e9 sa derni\u00e8re requ\u00eate, confirmant d\u00e9finitivement la sanction.<\/p>\n<p>Depuis le d\u00e9but de son proc\u00e8s, Abdel Aziz est d\u00e9tenu et ses biens ont \u00e9t\u00e9 saisis par les autorit\u00e9s. Par ailleurs, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9chu de ses droits civiques, marquant la fin de son influence politique dans le pays.<\/p>\n<p>Arriv\u00e9 au pouvoir \u00e0 la suite d\u2019un coup d\u2019\u00c9tat en 2008, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9lu pr\u00e9sident \u00e0 deux reprises et a dirig\u00e9 la Mauritanie de 2009 \u00e0 2019. Son mandat avait \u00e9t\u00e9 caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par un retour relatif \u00e0 la stabilit\u00e9 dans un pays longtemps confront\u00e9 aux coups d\u2019\u00c9tat et aux activit\u00e9s jihadistes.
