Aboubacar M. Tambadou, repr\u00e9sentant du Tribunal international charg\u00e9 des archives judiciaires (IRMCT), a confirm\u00e9 la nouvelle dans un courrier adress\u00e9 \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sidente de l\u2019institution, Graciela Gatti Santana. Les documents officiels attestant du d\u00e9c\u00e8s de Ndindabahizi survenu le 5 octobre ont \u00e9t\u00e9 transmis aux autorit\u00e9s b\u00e9ninoises le 8 octobre 2025.\u202f<\/p>\n

Ndindabahizi a \u00e9t\u00e9 reconnu coupable d\u2019avoir soutenu et renforc\u00e9 les attaques contre les Tutsi r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s sur le pont de Gitwa \u00e0 deux reprises, entra\u00eenant la mort de milliers de personnes. Le TPIR, bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Arusha en Tanzanie, avait conclu qu\u2019il faisait partie des acteurs majeurs du g\u00e9nocide contre les Tutsi dans la pr\u00e9fecture de Kibuye.<\/p>\n

Emmanuel Ndindabahizi, n\u00e9 en 1950 \u00e0 Gitesi (actuel district de Karongi), a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 \u00e0 Kirambo, Nyagato, Shyogwe et au Coll\u00e8ge Officiel de Kigali avant d\u2019obtenir des dipl\u00f4mes en \u00e9conomie et administration \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 nationale du Rwanda (1974 et 1976).<\/p>\n

En outre, il a exerc\u00e9 dans plusieurs institutions publiques et priv\u00e9es : directeur financier de la Coop\u00e9rative Trafipro (1976\u20131981), d\u2019Electrogaz (1981\u20131985), chef du d\u00e9partement des finances int\u00e9rieures au minist\u00e8re de la Planification (1985\u20131991), puis conseiller chez Audico (1991\u20131992).<\/p>\n

En 1992, Ndindabahizi a rejoint le Parti Social D\u00e9mocrate (PSD) et est devenu Secr\u00e9taire ex\u00e9cutif de la section de Kibuye en 1993. La m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 directeur de cabinet du ministre des Finances, le deuxi\u00e8me poste le plus important du minist\u00e8re. Le 9 avril 1994, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 nomm\u00e9 ministre des Finances dans le gouvernement des \u00ab Sauveurs \u00bb, fonction qu\u2019il a occup\u00e9e pendant le g\u00e9nocide contre les Tutsi.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s la chute du gouvernement g\u00e9nocidaire en juillet 1994, il s\u2019\u00e9tait r\u00e9fugi\u00e9 \u00e0 Goma, en R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo.<\/p>\n

C’est en 2009, qu’il a \u00e9t\u00e9 transf\u00e9r\u00e9 au B\u00e9nin pour purger sa peine de r\u00e9clusion \u00e0 perp\u00e9tuit\u00e9.<\/p>\n
