Sa famille avait pr\u00e9vu de l\u2019enterrer \u00e0 Johannesburg le 25 juin, apr\u00e8s un d\u00e9saccord avec le gouvernement zambien qui souhaitait organiser des fun\u00e9railles officielles dans la capitale, Lusaka.<\/p>\n

Alors que les pr\u00e9paratifs de l\u2019inhumation \u00e9taient presque termin\u00e9s, le gouvernement zambien a saisi la justice sud-africaine, le 24 juin, pour demander l\u2019arr\u00eat des c\u00e9r\u00e9monies, expliquant que, selon les lois du pays, tout ancien pr\u00e9sident doit \u00eatre inhum\u00e9 avec les honneurs dans son pays d\u2019origine.<\/p>\n

Apr\u00e8s avoir entendus les arguments du gouvernement zambien le 25 juin, le tribunal a estim\u00e9 la demande l\u00e9gitime et a ordonn\u00e9 la suspension de l\u2019inhumation, initialement pr\u00e9vue en pr\u00e9sence de la seule famille du d\u00e9funt. <\/p>\n

La d\u00e9cision du tribunal est intervenue apr\u00e8s une messe de requiem c\u00e9l\u00e9br\u00e9e \u00e0 la Cath\u00e9drale du Christ-Roi de Johannesburg, en hommage \u00e0 Dr Lungu, en pr\u00e9sence de plusieurs membres de sa famille.<\/p>\n

Le procureur g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la Zambie, Mulilo Kabesha, a \u00e9t\u00e9 invit\u00e9 \u00e0 pr\u00e9senter avant le 4 juillet un document expliquant pourquoi le corps du Dr Lungu doit \u00eatre rapatri\u00e9 pour \u00eatre enterr\u00e9 en Zambie. La justice sud-africaine examinera cette demande lors d\u2019une audience pr\u00e9vue le 4 ao\u00fbt.<\/p>\n

La famille du d\u00e9funt devra \u00e9galement soumettre un document justifiant pourquoi elle souhaite que l\u2019ancien pr\u00e9sident soit enterr\u00e9 en Afrique du Sud.<\/p>\n

En attendant ces proc\u00e9dures judiciaires, le tribunal a pr\u00e9cis\u00e9 que Dr Lungu ne pourra pas \u00eatre inhum\u00e9 avant le 4 ao\u00fbt.<\/p>\n
