Selon le Bureau du Pr\u00e9sident, les \u00e9changes ont port\u00e9 sur les activit\u00e9s du CICR au Rwanda ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019international.<\/p>\n

Pr\u00e9sent au Rwanda depuis 1963, le CICR y a \u00e9tabli une repr\u00e9sentation permanente en 1990.<\/p>\n

L\u2019organisation coop\u00e8re \u00e9troitement avec les institutions gouvernementales sur des questions relatives aux politiques publiques, \u00e0 l\u2019application de la loi et \u00e0 la formation, dans le but de promouvoir le respect du droit international humanitaire.<\/p>\n

Au-del\u00e0 des fronti\u00e8res rwandaises, le CICR joue un r\u00f4le essentiel dans l\u2019assistance aux familles affect\u00e9es par les conflits dans la r\u00e9gion des Grands Lacs, en particulier dans l\u2019est de la R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo (RDC), une zone en proie \u00e0 une instabilit\u00e9 chronique.<\/p>\n

Le Rwanda accueille actuellement plus de 130 000 r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s, majoritairement originaires de la RDC et du Burundi, qui b\u00e9n\u00e9ficient d\u2019un appui continu de la part des partenaires internationaux, notamment le HCR et le CICR, en \u00e9troite collaboration avec le gouvernement rwandais.<\/p>\n
