The Ministry has taken this precautionary measure following reports of tablet discoloration,however no adverse effects to human health have been reported at this time.<\/p>\n
Given this recent finding, the Medical Procurement and Production Division (MPPD) of the Rwanda Biomedical Center is engaging in a deeper review of its relationships with its suppliers to better ensure that all the products it acquires always meet the highest standards.<\/p>\n
The Ministry of Health takes this opportunity to inform Rwandans that there is no cause for alarm, and on-going quality inspections will continue as it has always been done over the past decade in order to improve the quality of medicine prescribed in Rwanda.<\/p>\n
According to the Minister of Health, Dr Agnes Binagwaho the solution for proactive and timely control of counterfeit drugs demands strong local measures to protect the health of the population.<\/p>\n
