{"id":903,"date":"2011-09-29T06:10:26","date_gmt":"2011-09-29T06:10:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/senatorial-elections-were-free-and-fair-karangwa\/"},"modified":"2011-09-29T06:08:09","modified_gmt":"2011-09-29T06:08:09","slug":"senatorial-elections-were-free-and-fair-karangwa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/senatorial-elections-were-free-and-fair-karangwa\/","title":{"rendered":"Senatorial Elections Were Free and Fair&#8211;Karangwa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{{The National Electoral Commission Chairman, Prof. Karangwa Chrysologue<br \/>\nHas released provisional senatorial results for all candidates who were contesting from Kigali City Council,  higher institutions of learning and 4 provinces.}}<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Karangwa says \u00be of the Electoral College for varsities and 2\/3 of Kigali and Provincial candidates were the major criteria to open doors for the voting college and this gave access to voting lecturers from all universities compared to 2003<\/p>\n<p>Prof. Laurent Nkusi the Vice Rector in charge of Academic Affairs at the Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Education of Kibungo (INATEK)   won with 335 votes equivalent  to 98.53% and the people that voted were 362 standing for private universities., while 923\/1138 voted for Public universities.<\/p>\n<p> Prof. Emmanuel Bajyana emerged the winner of the senatorial seat reserved for public institutions of higher learning.
