{"id":89,"date":"2011-04-29T16:03:34","date_gmt":"2011-04-29T16:03:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/did-green-party-leader-deserve-democracy-award\/"},"modified":"2011-04-30T00:45:50","modified_gmt":"2011-04-30T00:45:50","slug":"did-green-party-leader-deserve-democracy-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/did-green-party-leader-deserve-democracy-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Did Green party leader deserve democracy award?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Swedish Parliament must have be misled when they recently awarded Frank <span data-scayt_word=\"Habineza\" data-scaytid=\"1\">Habineza<\/span>, the leader of Democratic Green Party of Rwanda (<span data-scayt_word=\"DGPR\" data-scaytid=\"4\">DGPR<\/span>) won a democracy award which is unmerited for the leader, despite his so-called conservation ideas that have never yield tangible results in the country.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The leader, who is believed to have played his cards well, is the first individual in the region to receive the award, which risks loosing its credibility if dished out to individuals who do not deserve it.<\/p>\n<p><span data-scayt_word=\"Habineza\" data-scaytid=\"2\">Habineza<\/span> whose party has not yet full filled requirements to be legally registered as a political party in the country, <span data-scayt_word=\"bald-facedly\" data-scaytid=\"5\">bald-facedly<\/span> said that he was proud of the award, adding that he would continue to advocate for democracy through peaceful means.<\/p>\n<p>The Green Party representative in Sweden insisted that members would not give up in persuading the Rwandan political forum to approve their party to operate in the country. Such remarks are deemed as duplicitous since the political forum has on several occasions advised the greens on the requirements.<\/p>\n<p>On 28 December last year, the Green party leader <span data-scayt_word=\"mae\" data-scaytid=\"6\">mae<\/span> a key decision when he distanced his party from an opposition forum known as (Permanent Consultative Council of Opposition Parties in Rwanda) <span data-scayt_word=\"PCC\" data-scaytid=\"7\">PCC<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>It is believed that <span data-scayt_word=\"Habineza\u2019s\" data-scaytid=\"8\">Habineza\u2019s<\/span> decision was influenced by Dr. Papa <span data-scayt_word=\"Meisa\" data-scaytid=\"9\">Meisa<\/span> <span data-scayt_word=\"Dieng\" data-scaytid=\"10\">Dieng<\/span>, the head of political parties under the African Green Federation, who might have advised him to distance himself from two other opposition leaders whose political manifestos were full of ethnic incitements.<\/p>\n<p>Among the leaders <span data-scayt_word=\"Habineza\" data-scaytid=\"3\">Habineza<\/span> departed from were <span data-scayt_word=\"Victoire\" data-scaytid=\"11\">Victoire<\/span> <span data-scayt_word=\"Ingabire\" data-scaytid=\"12\">Ingabire<\/span>, who leads <span data-scayt_word=\"FDU-Inkingi\" data-scaytid=\"13\">FDU-Inkingi<\/span> and PS <span data-scayt_word=\"Imberakuri\u2019s\" data-scaytid=\"14\">Imberakuri\u2019s<\/span> Bernard <span data-scayt_word=\"Ntaganda\" data-scaytid=\"15\">Ntaganda<\/span>.
