{"id":8507,"date":"2013-06-18T03:56:06","date_gmt":"2013-06-18T03:56:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/kiac-launches-training-on-commercial-mediation\/"},"modified":"2013-06-18T04:01:51","modified_gmt":"2013-06-18T04:01:51","slug":"kiac-launches-training-on-commercial-mediation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/kiac-launches-training-on-commercial-mediation\/","title":{"rendered":"KIAC Launches Training on Commercial Mediation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{{Kigali International Arbitration Centre (KIAC) has organized a six-day programme of comprehensive training for selected participants on commercial Mediation at Lemigo Hotel from 17th-23rd June 2013.}}  <\/p>\n<p>Bernadette Uwicyeza, the KIAC Secretary General, said &#8220;the training is in line with KIAC\u2019s commitment to promote a culture of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in Rwanda and the region. <\/p>\n<p>The training will not only increase the capacity and knowledge of the 24 participants but also encourage and develop mediation as another cost-effective dispute resolution mechanism.  <\/p>\n<p>KIAC contracted the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR) from UK; a widely recognized institution in commercial mediator training and accreditation. <\/p>\n<p>The course content includes the Process and Skills for Effective Mediation, dynamics of negotiation, techniques and ethics of mediation, and mediation in commercial disputes. <\/p>\n<p>The training will also review mediation case studies and dispute resolution methods worldwide, particularly alternatives to litigation and arbitration in comparison to negotiation, arbitration and conciliation.<\/p>\n<p>Upon successful completion of the training, the participants will be assessed to be accredited as CEDR Accredited Mediator, a level that is internationally recognized as a standard of excellence. <\/p>\n<p>After this accreditation, KIAC will have its first pool of Mediators, who will contribute to effective commercial dispute resolution using mediation among the business community. <\/p>\n<p>It will be attended by professionals including lawyers, University lecturers, engineers, architects, Bankers, procurement specialists and many others.<\/p>\n<p>The training is funded by Investment Climate Facility for Africa under the Alternative Dispute Resolution Project in KIAC.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-2975 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/dsc_0060.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-2976 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/dsc_0087.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-2977 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/dsc_0068.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{{Kigali International Arbitration Centre (KIAC) has organized a six-day programme of comprehensive training for selected participants on commercial Mediation at Lemigo Hotel from 17th-23rd June 2013.}} Bernadette Uwicyeza, the KIAC Secretary General, said &#8220;the training is in line with KIAC\u2019s commitment to promote a culture of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms in Rwanda and the region.
