{"id":8460,"date":"2013-06-14T09:56:54","date_gmt":"2013-06-14T09:56:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/mtn-rwanda-reduces-tariffs\/"},"modified":"2013-06-14T09:56:46","modified_gmt":"2013-06-14T09:56:46","slug":"mtn-rwanda-reduces-tariffs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/mtn-rwanda-reduces-tariffs\/","title":{"rendered":"MTN-Rwanda Reduces Tariffs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{{MTN Rwanda announced a reduction on existing tariffs and new price plans which include a 22 % tariff reduction on MTN to MTN prepaid calls and 15% drop for calls on postpaid. }}  <\/p>\n<p>Calls to other local networks have also been reduced to Rwf50\/min. <\/p>\n<p>Chief Marketing Officer Yvonne Manzi Makolo said the reduction is in line with the company\u2019s new mission \u2013 \u201cto make our customers lives a whole lot brighter\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe wanted to ensure that our customers can stay connected to their friends, family and businesses at an even more affordable rate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The changes also include a revamp of MTN Zone where customers now see their actual tariff\/rate instead of the percentage discount. <\/p>\n<p>MTN has also improved their \u2018Friends and Family\u2019 product where the number of lines have doubled from 5 to 10 and 8 local (MTN) numbers that can be called at 20 Rwf\/min and 2 international numbers at 50% discount. <\/p>\n<p>{{Changes in the new price plan:}}<\/p>\n<p>New Per Second Billing (PSB) Tariff: <\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tThis is an offer that is valid for only prepaid customers on PSB.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tThe peak tariff for on-net (MTN to MTN calls is Rwf35\/min or Rwf0.6per sec<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tThere will no longer be off-peak tariff for weekends. <\/p>\n<p>{{New MTN Zone:}}<\/p>\n<p>Please note:  While broadcasting the MTN Zone, your handsets will now display the actual rate\/tariff instead of the percentage discount. <\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tA customer will join the new MTN Zone by dialing *135*1#<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tA customer can subscribe either through USSD or SMS. However, the SMS<br \/>\nchannel can only work with registration and not de-registration. <\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tThrough USSD the code is  *135*1# to register and *135*9# to de-register<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tThrough SMS, send MTN to 135 (If a customer sends an empty message, it is also valid)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tAny migration change out of MTN Zone before the 30 days period will be charged Rwf50<\/p>\n<p>{{New Free Night Calls:}}<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tThis offer is valid for ONLY prepaid customers on MTN Per Second <\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tBetween 11:30pm and 4am every day, MTN customers will enjoy free night calls (MTN to MTN)<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tThe customer must have a minimum balance of Rwf100 on their main account<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tThe calls will be capped at 60 minutes, thereafter the customer can make another call and the same rule of minimum balance of 100rwf shall apply.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tThis offer is only valid for On \u2013 Net calls (MTN to MTN) <\/p>\n<p>{{New Rwf1\/min Calling: }}<\/p>\n<p>Rwf1\/min will start at 11:30 pm and end at 4 am and this applies to post-paid clients and customers on MTN Zone<\/p>\n<p>{{New Post Paid Tariff:}}<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tThe new post-paid tariff shall be Rwf30\/min<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\tThe Rwf17.50\/min rate will remain during the weekends for post-paid.<\/p>\n<p>{{New Off-Net (MTN to Another Network):}}<\/p>\n<p>This applies to all service classes. The local off-net tariff shall be Rwf50\/min or Rwf0.8\/sec<\/p>\n<p>{{New MTN Friends and Family:}}<\/p>\n<p>MTN Friends &#038; Family has also been improved.
