{"id":819,"date":"2011-09-15T06:46:37","date_gmt":"2011-09-15T06:46:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/disabled-rwandan-athlete-wins-gold-in-maputo\/"},"modified":"2011-09-15T06:43:22","modified_gmt":"2011-09-15T06:43:22","slug":"disabled-rwandan-athlete-wins-gold-in-maputo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/disabled-rwandan-athlete-wins-gold-in-maputo\/","title":{"rendered":"Disabled Rwandan Athlete Wins Gold in Maputo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{{Muvunyi Criff Hassan, a disabled Rwandan athlete won gold medal yesterday in the men\u2019s 400 meter race in Maputo in the \u201cAll African Games\u201d after using 50 seconds and 30 half\u2019s.}}<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-680 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/muvunyi2130.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>He is the first Rwandan to bring home a gold medal in the men\u2019s 400meter race.<\/p>\n<p>Muvunyi  said that it\u2019s of great joy to represent Rwanda and that his victory is for all Rwandans.<br \/>\nSurprises came to many as the Rwandan songs were played in recognition of his victory.<\/p>\n<p>Muvunyi, however,  called on fellow citizens  for extra support to the disabled in the sports sector  adding that \u201cAfter all we can make it like the rest of the Athletes\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Muvunyi  had earlier won Silver medal in the 800meter race in the same competition.<br \/>\nHopes for Ndayisenga Jean Claude to do wonders are high as he will represent Rwanda in the 200meter race.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile Mukasekindi Claudette emerged on the 5th position in the women\u2019s 10,000 meter race.<\/p>\n<p>Muvunyi criff Hassan, the gold medal winner has already won himself a ticket to the next year Olympic Games scheduled in UK.
