Jean Pierre Muyobokimana, 34, a resident of Juru Sector in Kabukuba Cell in Bugesera district, reportedly pounded Dancilla Mukambora , 60, with a club before she bled to death as she was being rushed to the hospital by local authorities in the area.<\/p>\n
The suspect is currently detained at Nyamata Police Station as investigations continue to establish what sparked off the criminal act.<\/p>\n
Muyobokimana is said to have attacked the deceased on May 24 at around 22:00pm on her way home.<\/p>\n
Residents rushed to rescue her but it was too late to save her. Meawhile, reaidents said Muyobokimana had earlier threated to kill members of Mukambora\u2019s family over a dispute with her son.<\/p>\n
Police say Muyobokimana confessed to the murder claiming he deliberately killed her as revenge, because he was earlier beaten by her son.<\/p>\n
Supt. Athasase Nshuti, the Bugesera District Police Commander, condemned the heartless act.<\/p>\n
He said Police in the area is taking stringent measures to prevent such acts and to ensure that such criminals face justice.<\/p>\n
He urged citizens to report family related disputes in time to prevent such people from accomplishing their evil acts.<\/p>\n
If proven guilty, Muyobokimana is likely to face life imprisonment.<\/p>\n
