{{A motorcycle taxi operator in Gatsibo district has died after hitting a house during a chase by cooperative officials in charge of security.}}<\/p>\n
The deceased motorcycle taxi operator has been identified as Mutsindashyaka Bonavanture. <\/p>\n
Eye witnesses told media that Mutsindashyaka met his death during a motorcycle chase from Finance trading centre at Rwagitima in Rugarama sector. He died instantly.<\/p>\n
All motorcycle taxi operators in Rwagitima are registered to a cooperative association which also has a team that is in charge of security among the members.<\/p>\n
However, this security and safety team of the cooperative is accused of going overboard in taking decisions beyond their mandate. <\/p>\n
Residents in the area also claim the cooperative security team sometimes arrests private motorcycle owners and punish them as though they are motorcycle taxi operators.<\/p>\n
Supt. Christophe Semuhungu the Police Spokesperson in eastern Province urged owners of vehicles and motorcycles to acquire necessary documents to avoid such incidences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
