{"id":7539,"date":"2013-05-01T11:39:30","date_gmt":"2013-05-01T11:39:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/250-women-with-fistula-treated\/"},"modified":"2013-05-01T11:43:17","modified_gmt":"2013-05-01T11:43:17","slug":"250-women-with-fistula-treated","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/250-women-with-fistula-treated\/","title":{"rendered":"250 Women with Fistula Treated"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{{Over 250 Rwandan women suffering from Fistula have been successfully treated by a  group of visiting volunteer Doctors from the United States.}}<\/p>\n<p>Fistula is a medical condition in which a fistula (hole) develops between either the rectum and vagina or between the bladder and vagina after severe or failed childbirth, when adequate medical care is not available.<\/p>\n<p>It is considered a disease of poverty because of its tendency to occur in women in poor countries who do not have health resources comparable to developed nations.<\/p>\n<p>Barbara Margolies the group leader told IGIHE that about 250 women with fistula condition have been treated.<\/p>\n<p>The physicians are part of the Interntational Organization for Women &#038; Development Inc.
