{{Botswana’s President Lt. Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama has been attacked by a cheetah when it jumped on his face at the Botswana Defence Force (BDF) Barracks.}}<\/p>\n
Lt. Gen. Khama had to get two stitches on his face after seeking medical attention following the incident. <\/p>\n
According to reports, the cheetah was being fed from its enclosure when it jumped up at Mr Khama, who was close to it.<\/p>\n
Luckily, the president was in no danger as the cheetah was in an enclosure.<\/p>\n
The incident is said to have happened fast as the Botswana leader was looking down, catching him and his aide unaware.<\/p>\n
Government spokesperson Jeff Ramsay said the incident was merely \u201ca freak accident, but not an attack\u201d.<\/p>\n
He added the cheetah attacked the president in its element of excitement.<\/p>\n
He further revealed the abrasions and plaster seen on the president\u2019s face when he addressed meetings in the Kgatleng area, south east Botswana, late last week were as a result of the attack on the president by the cheetah.<\/p>\n
He, however, described the injuries as minor wounds that had already been given attention.<\/p>\n
