Below are the&nbsp;exce<\/strong>rpts.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-scaytid=\"51\" data-scayt_word=\"Joliss\">Joliss<\/span> Peace<\/strong><br \/> He is a 20-year old singer currently in senior six at Don <span data-scaytid=\"6\" data-scayt_word=\"Bosco\">Bosco<\/span>, a high school in Eastern Province. His stage name is <span data-scaytid=\"7\" data-scayt_word=\"Joliss\">Joliss<\/span> Peace but his fans call him \u2018Peace\u2019. <span data-scaytid=\"8\" data-scayt_word=\"Joliss\">Joliss<\/span> wants to be famous and he is determined to take the local music industry to the next level. As a student, he says his main challenge is to combine studying and singing but he loves both.<\/p>\n<p>His love for music dates back in his childhood. He says when he was young&nbsp;; he used to attend concerts with his mother, something that increased his interests for music.<\/p>\n<p>In primary six, <span data-scaytid=\"9\" data-scayt_word=\"Joliss\">Joliss<\/span> started writing songs and he named his first song <span data-scaytid=\"11\" data-scayt_word=\"\u2018Mpamagara\u2019\">\u2018Mpamagara\u2019<\/span> meaning \u2018call me. The song was released last year and became a hit. <span data-scaytid=\"12\" data-scayt_word=\"Tigo\">Tigo<\/span>, a mobile company is now using it a caller tune. <span data-scaytid=\"10\" data-scayt_word=\"Joliss\">Joliss<\/span> believes that the local media industry has a role to promote<br \/> the music industry. This could be done by playing local songs on the<br \/> radio stations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Life<\/strong><br \/> Life is a new group, which emerged early this year. It is composed of two young male singers Serge <span data-scaytid=\"13\" data-scayt_word=\"Gatsinzi\">Gatsinzi<\/span> and <span data-scaytid=\"16\" data-scayt_word=\"Audace\">Audace<\/span> Willy <span data-scaytid=\"17\" data-scayt_word=\"Mucyo\">Mucyo<\/span>. Serge is known for his song <span data-scaytid=\"21\" data-scayt_word=\"\u2018Mbwire\">\u2018Mbwire<\/span> <span data-scaytid=\"22\" data-scayt_word=\"iki\">iki<\/span> <span data-scaytid=\"23\" data-scayt_word=\"umukunzi\">umukunzi<\/span>, and <span data-scaytid=\"24\" data-scayt_word=\"Amapingo\">Amapingo<\/span> <span data-scaytid=\"25\" data-scayt_word=\"y\u2019Urukundo\">y\u2019Urukundo<\/span>. Local radio stations play these songs often.<\/p>\n<p>Before forming the group, <span data-scaytid=\"14\" data-scayt_word=\"Gatsinzi\">Gatsinzi<\/span> and <span data-scaytid=\"18\" data-scayt_word=\"Mucyo\">Mucyo<\/span> were friends and created the group \u2018life\u2019 after realizing that they shared passion for music.<\/p>\n<p>They have so far recorded their first single <span data-scaytid=\"26\" data-scayt_word=\"\u2018Ndibaza\u2019\">\u2018Ndibaza\u2019<\/span> and they are currently working on their second song expected to be released next month.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike <span data-scaytid=\"19\" data-scayt_word=\"Mucyo\">Mucyo<\/span>, <span data-scaytid=\"15\" data-scayt_word=\"Gatsinzi\">Gatsinzi<\/span> plays guitar. He says he has played guitar for the past 12 years. \u201cI\u2019m so in love with the guitar\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, <span data-scaytid=\"20\" data-scayt_word=\"Mucyo\">Mucyo<\/span> is a songwriter and a dancer. He says he is currently on a level where he can teach dancing. He sings in hip-hop style. The group has worked with Producer Nicolas, the owner of Bridge Record, based in Kigali and is currently working with Lick Lick, the leading producer in Rwanda who owns Unlimited Record. <\/p>\n<p>Life believes that the local music industry should be valued like other sectors and this could help develop it.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Rwanda\u2019s music industry continues to flourish with more youngsters joining the stage to take the industry to a higher level.
