Didas Ndahiro, includes 22 students and five directing staff from the Northern Province-based military college.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe aim of the tour is to develop the students\u2019 broader perspective on regional issues,\u201d said Col. Ndahiro.<\/p>\n<p>The one-week tour is running under the theme, \u201cSocial economic development as pillar of national security.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, the delegation visited Parliament of Uganda where they were apprised of the legislative system by Parliament Director Clerk Emmanuel Bakwega.<\/p>\n<p>The students also visited Defence Forces headquarters, where they were briefed by the Commandant, Lt. Gen. Katumba Wamala.<\/p>\n<p>Uganda\u2019s ICT minister, Dr Ruhakana Rugunda, briefed the students on the role of ICT in development and, thereafter, they visited Uganda\u2019s Ministry of East African Community Affairs, where they were lectured on the benefits of regional integration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe were also briefed by the Ministry of Local Government on the role of decentralisation in the democratisation process,\u201d Col. Ndahiro said.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday, the students were expected to visit the Ministry of Trade and Industry and will be briefed on trade policy before they set off to the Senior Command and Staff College.<\/p>\n<p>As part of efforts to increase the knowledge of the students on regional issues, another delegation led by Brig. Gen.
