{{Residents of Nyakanazi cell in Murama Sector of Kayonza District have expressed dissatisfaction about the manner in which terraces are being implemented in their area.}}<\/p>\n
They told IGIHE that most of their crops have been uprooted yet the area has been affected drought in the previous months leaving most residents hungry.<\/p>\n
The residents say the only crops they had planted owing to the recent rains were their only hope but the terracing program has brought their hopes down.<\/p>\n
They thus demand for an immediate suspension of uprooting their crops saying priority should be given to crops instead of terraces.<\/p>\n
Earlier this month, the Minister of Local Government James Musoni had warned local leaders against destroying farmers crops that have failed to comply with Crop regionalization policy.<\/p>\n
The Minister also revealed similar incidences have been reported in Kayonza District where farmers were asked to destroy their sorghum.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
