{{Seleka Rebels have suspended the constitution after capturing power in Central African Republic and forcing President Francois Bozize to flee to Cameroon.}}<\/p>\n

The Rebels have also regretted the action that led to the deaths of 13 South African National Defence Force soldiers, the SANDF said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

“On Sunday morning the leaders of the rebels came to the base, and discussed what happened on the ground, and they regretted exchanging fire with SANDF soldiers,” said Brigadier General Xolani Mabanga.<\/p>\n

“Since then there hasn’t been any threatening situation against the SANDF. We are not taking anything lightly and are taking all precautionary measures to ensure SANDF members are safe on the ground.”<\/p>\n

Michel Djotodia leader of rebels said there would be a transition period until “credible and transparent” elections, during which he would “legislate by decree”.<\/p>\n

He added he would uphold a peace deal that promises elections in three years.<\/p>\n
