{"id":6509,"date":"2013-03-13T02:14:34","date_gmt":"2013-03-13T02:14:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/133-583-children-to-be-vaccinated-in-nyaruguru\/"},"modified":"2013-03-13T02:15:31","modified_gmt":"2013-03-13T02:15:31","slug":"133-583-children-to-be-vaccinated-in-nyaruguru","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/133-583-children-to-be-vaccinated-in-nyaruguru\/","title":{"rendered":"133,583 Children to be vaccinated in Nyaruguru"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{{Rwanda has launched a national Vaccination campaign against Rubella and Measles targeting 5 Million Children across the country.}}<\/p>\n<p>The event took place March 12, 2013 in Kibeho Sector of Nyaruguru District in which about 133,583 children will be vaccinated.<\/p>\n<p>While launching the campaign, the Minister of Gender and Family Promotion, Oda Gasinzigwa, said this is part of efforts to prevent preventable diseases which might otherwise threaten people\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n<p>According to Charlie Whettam from GAVI-Alliance Rwanda become the first country in Africa to introduce the combined vaccine of Rubella and Measles.<\/p>\n<p>GAVI-Alliance partners with Rwanda to provide Rubella Vaccine among Rwandan Children aged between 6 months to 15 years old<br \/>\nCharlie said the vaccine will not cause negative effect to children since it 25 years being used in developed countries.<\/p>\n<p>He said over 700 Million children have got the vaccine worldwide<br \/>\nIt is estimated that the campaign will cost over $3.2 million (about Rwf2bn.)<\/p>\n<p>Experts have termed the exercise \u201ca phenomenal achievement\u201d which is in line with the country\u2019s efforts to achieve the target of zero-preventable deaths.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-2174 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/Minisitiri_Oda_Gasinzigwa_atangiza_gahunda_yo_gutanga_inkingo.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{{Rwanda has launched a national Vaccination campaign against Rubella and Measles targeting 5 Million Children across the country.}} The event took place March 12, 2013 in Kibeho Sector of Nyaruguru District in which about 133,583 children will be vaccinated.
