{{Zimbabwe’s Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai made a sudden U-turn and denounced homosexuality during a meeting in Harare last night.
\nAddressing MDC-T supporters at Glen View New Hall, Prime Minister Tsvangirai denounced homosexuality and said marriages should be between a man and a woman.}}<\/p>\n
\u201cIn the draft Constitution, we said marriage is between a man and a woman and those who want to marry another from the same sex, then they have a problem. Why do you want to sleep with another man?\u201d<\/p>\n
Prime Minister Tsvangirai also talked about devolution of power which is highlighted in the draft constitution.<\/p>\n
\u201cDevolution of power is not a Matabeleland fight but a national cause. For a very long time, they (Zanu-PF) thought the ones from Matabeleland were the only ones who were campaigning for devolution of power.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe (MDC-T) say a devolved state is the one we want,\u201d Prime Minister Tsvangirai said.
\nLast night\u2019s meeting followed a similar one that was stopped by police after the MDC-T leadership failed to get clearance to hold it.<\/p>\n
The meeting was meant to be the first of a series of such meetings dubbed \u201cTown Hall Meetings\u201d. MDC-T Harare provincial spokesperson Senator Obert Gutu however indicated that the meetings were \u2018Yes Vote\u2019 campaigns for the Draft Constitution.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
