{{One UN Rwanda in collaboration with the US Embassy, the Rwanda Library Services, Agaseke Project and l\u2019Institut Fran\u00e7ais will celebrate the International women\u2019s day \u2013 one day ahead of time \u2013 with women and girls from all walks of life and extraordinary career stories.}}<\/p>\n
Starting at 9:30am on March 7th at the Public Library (Rwanda Library Services) in Kacyiru, Kigali the celebration will feature special portraits of women, the screening of a short film, information corners, a discussion panel on the \u201cfuture we want\u201d and an exhibition by Agaseke weavers (in an open market format).<\/p>\n
“The Gender Agenda: Gaining Momentum” is the global theme of the 2013 International Women\u2019s Day, celebrated each year on the 8th of March. The discussion panel will focus on the stories of successful women in entrepreneurship and non-traditional careers. <\/p>\n
\u201cOur brothers are trying hard to make Rwanda a better place, why not me? Why should women remain behind?\u201d, asks Shafiga Murebwa, a police officer.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am proud to be a female judge and president of the court because I believe that by exercising my duties I can and do defend the rights of the women of my country\u201d, says Fabienne Kabogambe, judge and President of the Court of Justice. <\/p>\n
