{{Private security companies in Rwanda have praised skills and knowledge gained from the three-day training in crime prevention and security as vital in as far as their daily operations is concerned.}}<\/p>\n
The training which was organised by Rwanda National Police climaxed on Friday at the Ethics Centre at the Police headquarters in Kacyiru.<\/p>\n
Celestin Karemera, operations officer at SCAR security company who spoke on behalf of the participants thanked Rwanda National Police\u2019s initiative in training private security officers, adding that security is a pillar to the country\u2019s development.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have gained a lot of knowledge and skills in this training. It is like I have spent months acquiring the experiences, skills and knowledge from this training. I feel refreshed and confident to continue pursuing my profession,\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will share the fruits gained with the rest of our colleagues who didn\u2019t manage to attend this training. We work for a bigger community of Rwandans as well as foreigners, so we have learnt many things related to reporting systems, enhancing security and how to be ethical and professional in our daily work,\u201d added Karemera.<\/p>\n
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Christopher Bizimungu, the Commissioner for Criminal Investigation Department (CID), while officially closing the course, urged the trainees to put to use the skills gained when they return back to their companies so as to help Police in the prevention and reduction of crimes.<\/p>\n
\u201cI believe you have gained a lot of useful skills in combating crime and maintaining security. Ensuring security is a crucial role and everyone must embrace it. I am thanking you for your proven discipline exhibited during the training,\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will continue to have more training sessions in future so as to greatly improve security in the nation,\u201d added ACP Bizimungu.<\/p>\n
Fifty five members of eleven local private security companies were tutored on different courses such as community policing, information sharing, human rights, information analysis and reporting system.<\/p>\n
Others are weapon handling and management, readiness and inspection, security awareness, security checking, ethics and discipline and impact of security companies\u2019 activities on the image of Rwanda National Police image.<\/p>\n
Rwanda has 12 licensed private security companies namely; Excel, RGL, KK Security, Agespro, Excellent, Intersec, Top sec, Fodey, Scar, high security, VCSS and Garsec.<\/p>\n
