{{Rwanda Governance Board (RGB)\u2019s Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Ambassador Fatuma Ndangiza, has said Nyaruguru has achieved significant progress owed to good governance Practices.}}<\/p>\n
Ndangiza made the remarks during her tour of different development programmes in the district as part of the country\u2019s annual good governance month launched January 22 and set to end on March 15.<\/p>\n
She added that Famine which was affecting residents in Nyaruguru has been eradicated.<\/p>\n
The District\u2019s economy relies on agriculture and animal husbandry. <\/p>\n
Although Agriculture and animal husbandry are practiced according to traditional methods, the District officials said residents are adapting to modern farming practices expected to improve within 2nd Phase of Economic Development and Poverty Reduction Strategy (EDPRS). <\/p>\n
Residents in Nyaruguru also grow industrial crops such as coffee and tea, and even subsistence crops such as wheat, potatoes, sorghum, bean, vegetables and fruits.<\/p>\n
According to Nyaruguru\u2019s Mayor, Fran\u00e7ois Habitegeko, \u201cgood governance normally means development\u201d. <\/p>\n
