Speaking at a press briefing, Peng Qingen, a spokesperson for China\u2019s Taiwan Affairs Office, reaffirmed China\u2019s stance on Taiwan, stating that the country has a \u201cfirm will, strong determination and a strong ability\u201d to defend its sovereignty. He emphasized, \u201cWe will crush all foreign interference.\u201d <\/p>\n

This warning comes after Japan\u2019s announcement that it intends to deploy missile defense systems on Yonaguni Island, located just 110 kilometers from Taiwan\u2019s eastern coast.<\/p>\n

Beijing sees Taiwan as part of its territory and has repeatedly expressed its intention to reunite the island with the mainland, using force if necessary. Taiwan, however, operates as a self-governed democracy and rejects China\u2019s claims, insisting that its future should be decided by its people. <\/p>\n

Beijing\u2019s statement reflects its growing frustration over Japan\u2019s increasing involvement in Taiwan\u2019s defense.<\/p>\n

Japan\u2019s plans to enhance its military presence near Taiwan have raised concerns in China.
