{"id":55979,"date":"2025-10-16T16:21:46","date_gmt":"2025-10-16T16:21:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwanda-showcases-sustainable-tourism-at-germany-roadshows\/"},"modified":"2025-10-16T16:35:52","modified_gmt":"2025-10-16T16:35:52","slug":"rwanda-showcases-sustainable-tourism-at-germany-roadshows","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwanda-showcases-sustainable-tourism-at-germany-roadshows\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda showcases sustainable tourism at Germany roadshows"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The event, organized by the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) in partnership with the Embassy of Rwanda in Germany and the Tourism Chamber, followed successful engagements in Utrecht (Netherlands).<\/p>\n<p>It aimed to connect Rwandan tour operators with European travel professionals and promote new, tailor-made packages for the German market.<\/p>\n<p>In his remarks, Ambassador Igor C\u00e9sar described Rwanda, the Land of a Thousand Hills, as a destination where nature, culture, and innovation meet. <\/p>\n<p>He highlighted the country\u2019s rich landscapes stretching from Nyungwe and Volcanoes to Akagera and Gishwati-Mukura National Parks, offering experiences from gorilla trekking and rainforest hikes to savanna safaris and urban exploration in Kigali.<\/p>\n<p>Sustainability was a key theme. Amb. C\u00e9sar emphasized Rwanda\u2019s success in wildlife conservation, including the reintroduction of lions and rhinos, which has transformed Akagera National Park into a \u201cBig Five\u201d destination. <\/p>\n<p>He also underscored the Tourism Revenue Sharing Program, through which over Frw 18.1 billion has funded more than 1,190 community projects around national parks, ensuring tourism directly benefits local communities.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to tour operators and agents, Amb. C\u00e9sar described them as \u201cstorytellers\u201d who shape travelers\u2019 choices and invited them to integrate Rwanda into their itineraries. <\/p>\n<p>With Germany among Rwanda\u2019s top ten tourism source markets, the roadshow reaffirmed Rwanda\u2019s commitment to sustainable partnerships and to positioning itself as one of Africa\u2019s most compelling and responsible destinations.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-96282\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/3-236.jpg\" alt=\"Kageruka Ariella, Head of Tourism at RDB, captivated the audience with in-depth presentations on Rwanda\u2019s flagship experiences.\" \/><\/figure>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-96292\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/s-20.jpg\" alt=\"Amb.
