{"id":53520,"date":"2025-03-22T16:15:38","date_gmt":"2025-03-22T16:15:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/doors-open-for-rwandans-to-benefit-from-educational-opportunities-in-china\/"},"modified":"2025-03-22T16:15:23","modified_gmt":"2025-03-22T16:15:23","slug":"doors-open-for-rwandans-to-benefit-from-educational-opportunities-in-china","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/doors-open-for-rwandans-to-benefit-from-educational-opportunities-in-china\/","title":{"rendered":"Doors open for Rwandans to benefit from educational opportunities in China"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Professor Minsu Wu of the Communication University of China highlighted the life-changing impact of education, drawing from China\u2019s own experience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEducation has been instrumental in China\u2019s modernization, lifting millions out of poverty and propelling the nation\u2019s rapid development,\u201d she stated during a public lecture at the Beijing-based university, founded in 1954 and recognized as one of China\u2019s key institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Since 2001, China, the second largest economy in the world, has experienced a significant expansion of its higher education system, which has greatly contributed to its economic and technological advancements.<\/p>\n<p>The country&#8217;s ambitious education goals are articulated in the \u201cOutline for Building an Education Powerhouse (2024-2035),&#8221; a comprehensive plan issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council.<\/p>\n<p>This initiative aims to establish a world-class education system by 2035, focusing on talent cultivation, technological self-reliance, and enhancing global influence.<\/p>\n<p>With over 293 million students and 18.8 million teachers, China boasts the largest state-run education system globally.<\/p>\n<p>The country has made significant strides in promoting science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, aligning with its goal of achieving technological independence.<\/p>\n<p>Beijing reckons Rwandan students stand to gain immensely from China\u2019s rigorous academic standards and competitive environment, which have produced over 10 million college graduates annually in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>As China continues to welcome international students, Rwandan youth are urged to seize the opportunity to acquire skills and knowledge that can contribute to their country\u2019s development.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEducation changes destinies,\u201d Prof Wu asserted, adding, \u201cBy tapping into China\u2019s educational resources, African students can play a pivotal role in shaping their future and that of their nations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This call comes as China reinforces its commitment to cultural and educational exchanges with Rwanda, aiming to empower youth and deepen bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>On January 8, 2025, through the ongoing academic collaboration and exchange between Rwanda Polytechnic and Jinhua University of Vocational Technology, 30 Rwandan students successfully completed a joint training program in E-commerce and Electrical Automation Technology.
