The network\u2019s president, Stephen Capus, called the cuts a \u201cmassive gift to America\u2019s enemies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Critics, including Reporters Without Borders, condemned the move, warning that it undermines America\u2019s global leadership in press freedom.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a stark departure from the U.S.\u2019s historic role as a defender of free information,\u201d the organization said in a statement, calling for congressional intervention to restore the media outlets.<\/p>\n<p>The cuts are part of Trump\u2019s broader effort to reduce government spending and eliminate agencies he deems inefficient.
