She said that the bus was carrying 52 passengers when it lost control in the mountainous area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe vehicle went off the road and rolled down the slope. We are still investigating the cause of the accident,\u201d said Rwanda National Police spokesperson, ACP Boniface Rutikanga.<\/p>\n<p>The Government of Rwanda issued a statement expressing its condolences to the families of the victims. Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente conveyed the government&#8217;s deepest sympathy and confirmed that the injured were immediately transferred to local hospitals for medical care.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Government of Rwanda extends its deepest condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in today&#8217;s tragic road accident that claimed 20 lives and left several others injured in Rusiga Sector, Rulindo District,\u201d he said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>The government has assured continued support for the bereaved and the injured, emphasizing the importance of road safety.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe remind all road users, especially drivers, to follow the laws and regulations concerning road safety to prevent accidents and save lives,\u201d added the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"spip-document spip-document-81510 aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/en-images.igihe.com\/jpg\/whatsapp_image_2025-02-11_at_22.58_35.jpg\" alt=\"A tragic bus accident in Rulindo District has resulted in the deaths of 20 people.\" \/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A tragic bus accident in Rulindo District has resulted in the deaths of 20 people, with several others left injured.
