{"id":52386,"date":"2024-12-23T12:41:19","date_gmt":"2024-12-23T12:41:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwanda-polytechnic-students-aim-higher-after-producing-africa-s-first-cross\/"},"modified":"2024-12-25T15:49:54","modified_gmt":"2024-12-25T15:49:54","slug":"rwanda-polytechnic-students-aim-higher-after-producing-africa-s-first-cross","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwanda-polytechnic-students-aim-higher-after-producing-africa-s-first-cross\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda Polytechnic students aim higher after producing Africa\u2019s first cross racing car"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The car, unveiled by President Paul Kagame and Mohammed Ben Sulayem, President of the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Internationale de l&#8217;Automobile (FIA) in Kigali, has sparked pride and ambitious aspirations among the students involved.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to RBA, some team members highlighted the importance of their milestone, describing it as proof of Africa\u2019s potential in innovative engineering.<\/p>\n<p>Clemence Iradukunda, one of the students, shared, \u201cBeing part of this project, creating a racing car for the first time in Africa, has inspired me to further refine my skills and contribute to Rwanda\u2019s development.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>F\u00e9lix Ndayizeye, a student who assisted in supervising the project and welding components, emphasized the transformative power of vocational training. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy responsibilities included welding and supporting our engineer from FIA. After working together, we assembled the required parts. This shows that Rwanda\u2019s vocational training programs have immense potential. We\u2019ve proven that Rwanda can achieve great things, and we\u2019re confident about future projects,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Marc Sibomana, an instructor at IPRC-Kigali, lauded the team\u2019s dedication and resilience.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe learned to work within deadlines and realized that nothing is impossible if we strive to achieve our goals,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Alice Ikuzwe, Deputy Principal in charge of Academics and Training at IPRC-Kigali, encouraged the students to use this accomplishment as a springboard for tackling local challenges.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStudents now understand their capability.
