He is expected to attened the meeting along with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and Angolan President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o in an effort to address regional security challenges.<\/p>\n

This confirmation was announced by President Tshisekedi\u2019s spokesperson, Tina Salama, on December 6, 2024, according to Radio France Internationale (RFI).<\/p>\n

The talks follow a November 25, 2024, ministerial agreement outlining steps to dismantle the FDLR terror group and ease security measures imposed by Rwanda along its border.<\/p>\n

The December 15 discussions are expected to focus on finding a lasting solution to the M23 rebel group crisis, which was not addressed during the earlier meeting.<\/p>\n

Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Olivier Nduhungirehe, recently stressed that resolving the root causes behind M23\u2019s armed rebellion requires direct talks between the DRC government and the group.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Top Congo FM on December 6, 2024, DRC’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Th\u00e9r\u00e8se Kayikwamba Wagner, dismissed the possibility of such negotiations. <\/p>\n
