{{The Ministry of Health through Rwanda\u2019s embassy in Germany has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Health of the Government of Rhineland-Palatinate aimed at improving medical training and higher education of Rwandan doctors and specialists. }} <\/p>\n
This funding will last for five years.<\/p>\n
The signing function was attended by Rwanda\u2019s Ambassador to Germany, Christine Nkulikiyinka, the Minister of Health of the Government of Rhineland-Palatinate, Malu Dreyer, the Minister of Science and Education, Doris Ahnen as well as the member of board and medical director of the University Medical Center Mainz, Prof. Norbert Pfeiffer.<\/p>\n
Other participants were the President of the Partnership Association and representatives of the Ministry of Interior. <\/p>\n
Doctors as well as medical students also participated in the event. <\/p>\n
Ambassador Nkulikiyinka stressed the importance of cooperation in the health sector. <\/p>\n
\u201cIncreasing capacity building of Rwandan doctors through medical training is our priority,\u201dshe said. <\/p>\n
Malu Dreyer and Prof. Pfeiffer commended the achievements of Rwanda in general and the health sector in particular.<\/p>\n
During a visit in Rwanda in October 2011 they met with Rwanda\u2019s Minister of Health. They were impressed with health projects in Rwanda, especially the national medical insurance. <\/p>\n
According to the MoU, cooperation will consist of institutional exchanges from faculty and staff from medical institutions in Rhineland-Palatine to Rwanda. <\/p>\n
Under this arrangement, German doctors and specialists are expected to provide training in Rwandan institutions of higher education. <\/p>\n
Higher education institutions will exchange information regarding student development, strengthen bilateral exchanges and set up common research projects. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
