{"id":4952,"date":"2013-01-03T01:27:12","date_gmt":"2013-01-03T01:27:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/land-law-to-be-amended\/"},"modified":"2013-01-03T01:29:13","modified_gmt":"2013-01-03T01:29:13","slug":"land-law-to-be-amended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/land-law-to-be-amended\/","title":{"rendered":"Land Law to be Amended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>{{The Minister of Natural Resources, Stanislas Kamanzi has said that government intends to repeal the existing land law  to address the loopholes in the previous organic law governing land use.}}<\/p>\n<p>Minister Kamanzi said that if amended  the new law seeks to ensure transparency in land use.<\/p>\n<p>He was quoted by {Newtimes} saying, \u201cPreviously, people would access any size of land for investment without proper justification that they really needed that size of land.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Kamanzi notes that In the new bill, &#8220;we will regulate that and say that, at least one can have a minimum of five hectares for investment and if it is proved that more is required, the Minister in charge can approve.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>According to the minister, once the new law is passed, foreign investors will continue to get free hold titles but with possibility, for example, of a share agreement in which Rwandans will own 51 per cent shares in a company. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>{{The Minister of Natural Resources, Stanislas Kamanzi has said that government intends to repeal the existing land law to address the loopholes in the previous organic law governing land use.}} Minister Kamanzi said that if amended the new law seeks to ensure transparency in land use.
