{"id":49381,"date":"2023-11-30T08:13:11","date_gmt":"2023-11-30T08:13:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/tanzania-s-ruling-party-secretary-general-resigns\/"},"modified":"2023-11-30T08:15:30","modified_gmt":"2023-11-30T08:15:30","slug":"tanzania-s-ruling-party-secretary-general-resigns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/tanzania-s-ruling-party-secretary-general-resigns\/","title":{"rendered":"Tanzania&#8217;s ruling party Secretary General resigns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The resignation of Chongolo was announced by Paul Makonda, CCM&#8217;s ideology and publicity secretary, at the end of a two-day meeting of the party&#8217;s National Executive Committee (NEC) held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania&#8217;s commercial hub.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The chairperson of CCM, President Samia Suluhu Hassan, informed the NEC meeting that she had received a resignation letter from the secretary general and she has endorsed the resignation,&#8221; Makonda told a news conference at the end of the NEC meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Makonda did not explain the reasons for Chongolo&#8217;s resignation.
