It shares borders with Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, and the Republic of Congo while being situated on the Atlantic Ocean. With a population of 2.3 million in 2021, Gabon is sparsely populated, with forests covering 88% of its land.<\/p>\n<p>The country exhibits one of Africa&#8217;s highest urbanization rates, with over four out of five Gabonese residing in urban areas. <\/p>\n<p>The cities of Libreville and Port-Gentil are home to 59% of the nation&#8217;s population.
