{"id":48409,"date":"2023-07-05T10:24:44","date_gmt":"2023-07-05T10:24:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/rwanda-uganda-open-new-border-post\/"},"modified":"2023-07-05T10:25:21","modified_gmt":"2023-07-05T10:25:21","slug":"rwanda-uganda-open-new-border-post","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/rwanda-uganda-open-new-border-post\/","title":{"rendered":"Rwanda, Uganda open new border post"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The opening of the border on Wednesday 5th July 2023, has been announced via Twitter handle. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration [DGIE] is pleased to inform the general public that Rwempasha\/Kizinga border post, a new border between Rwanda and Uganda situated in Nyagatare District is open to all travelers, effective today, 5th July 2023,\u201d reads the tweet.<\/p>\n<p>The border post was initially opened in 2007 in response to citizens&#8217; request for improved cross-border trade in the area. <\/p>\n<p>However, it had been temporarily closed for renovations for quite some time.
