{{The Mayor of Kigali city, Fidele Ndayisaba has warned Kigali City residents to be responsible during the coming festive events.}}<\/p>\n
The Call was made today during a press conference held at Kigali City Headquarter.<\/p>\n
It is generally known that the festive season can also be a silly season where some young people indulge in reckless behaviour such as, alcohol abuse, unsafe sex and violent behaviour, which sometimes result in a criminal record.<\/p>\n
The Mayor said such crimes are punishable by the law.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe would like to encourage our citizens to use this time productively by doing activities which are not violating other people\u2019s right.\u201d Ndayisaba said.<\/p>\n
He stressed that no one is allowed to serve beer to less than 18 years children.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven children are not allowed to go out alone except when they are together with an adult to take care of them\u201d He added
\nCurrently, there were incidences of fire among entertainment areas around Kigali City.<\/p>\n
The Mayor has urged owners of such properties to make sure that that the facilities they have are suitable for the entertainment.<\/p>\n
\u201cInvestigations revealed that those houses that gut fire were not meant for entertainment, some time you find them being residential houses, so we encourage the owners of those houses to make sure that they are complied to the standard meant for entertainment houses\u201d He xplained.<\/p>\n
To avoid such incidences, Rica Rwigamba, the Head of Tourism at Rwanda Development Board said that in the coming years there will be entertainment parks to boost tourism and leisure around Kigali City.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese parks will follow international standard\u201d Said Rica Rwigamba.
\nNdayisaba took the occasion and wish a happy new year and Christmas to all residents of Kigali City.<\/p>\n
