{"id":47875,"date":"2023-04-18T07:16:50","date_gmt":"2023-04-18T07:16:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/president-kagame-bestowed-amilcar-cabral-medal-in-guinea-bissau\/"},"modified":"2023-04-20T07:07:22","modified_gmt":"2023-04-20T07:07:22","slug":"president-kagame-bestowed-amilcar-cabral-medal-in-guinea-bissau","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/president-kagame-bestowed-amilcar-cabral-medal-in-guinea-bissau\/","title":{"rendered":"President Kagame bestowed Am\u00edlcar Cabral Medal in Guinea Bissau"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Head of State was bestowed the medal on Monday 17th April 2023 as he visited the country.  <\/p>\n<p>Am\u00edlcar Cabral Medal is given to the heads of state of countries that are friends of Guinea-Bissau.  <\/p>\n<p>Guin\u00e9e-Bissau is led by Umaro Mokhtar Sissoco Embal\u00f3,50, since February 2020.   <\/p>\n<p>He also served as the country\u2019s Prime Minister between November 2016 and January 2018.  <\/p>\n<p>Since he was installed President, the country\u2019s relations with Rwanda gets boost gradually.  <\/p>\n<p>On his visit to Guinea-Bissau, Kagame was hosted by his counterpart, Umaro. <\/p>\n<p>According to Rwanda\u2019s Presidency, both leaders held a t\u00eate-\u00e0-t\u00eate and exchanged on various topics including potential areas of bilateral cooperation as well as the regional situation in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).<\/p>\n<p>After holding a closed-door meeting, they proceeded to bilateral discussions with members of both delegations.<\/p>\n<p>The President also visited the Mausoleum of National Heroes of Guinea-Bissau dedicated to Am\u00edlcar Lopes da Costa Cabral, Bissau-Guinean and Cape Verdean Pan-Africanist who was one of Africa&#8217;s foremost anti-colonial leaders, and Jo\u00e3o Bernardo &#8220;Nino&#8221;
