{"id":47517,"date":"2023-02-11T07:39:52","date_gmt":"2023-02-11T07:39:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/drc-recruits-nearly-130-new-mercenaries\/"},"modified":"2023-02-15T10:50:39","modified_gmt":"2023-02-15T10:50:39","slug":"drc-recruits-nearly-130-new-mercenaries","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.igihe.com\/english\/drc-recruits-nearly-130-new-mercenaries\/","title":{"rendered":"DRC recruits nearly 130 new mercenaries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The new mercenaries from Bucharest in Romania arrived in Goma town on Tuesday 7th February 2023.  <\/p>\n<p>Sources from FARDC have confirmed that they are accommodated at La Joie Plazza Hotel.<\/p>\n<p>It is said that the recruitment will bring the total number of mercenaries fighting in eastern DRC to 340.  <\/p>\n<p>Increasing mercenaries evidences the country\u2019s stand to fight instead of respecting resolutions reached through Luanda and Nairobi processes to end hostilities by means of dialogue.     <\/p>\n<p>The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Vincent Biruta told parliamentarians last month that relations between Rwanda and DRC are not good even though there are established regional mechanisms to end ongoing tensions.   <\/p>\n<p>He disclosed that FARDC is openly engaged in collaboration with the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda (FDLR), a terrorist group formed by individuals responsible for the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.  <\/p>\n<p>Minister Biruta also revealed that the coalition never ceases saying that it will finally strike Rwanda.     <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI told you what happened recently including fighter jets that have been violating Rwanda\u2019s airspace. Besides, you have seen mercenaries brought by the Democratic Republic of Congo in the past few days. It is said that they are around 300 mercenaries living in Goma.
